The firm represented software development company 3PL Systems Inc. in a bet-the-company copyright infringement case against Walter Mitchell. Mitchell v. 3PL Systems Inc., CV11-00534 (C.C. Cal., filed April 7, 2011). After defeating Mitchell’s affirmative claims on summary judgment, Matt Wegner, Bill Brown and Matthew Berliner took the case to trial on 3PL’s cross claims of copyright infringement and breach of fiduciary duty, resulting in a $1.7 million verdict in 3PL’s favor.
